i would suggest researching a bit online. but from my experience working in treatment centers yes, meth has foul chemicals. when they first come in and are detoxing from it addicts smell like chemical and ammonia. there are so many foul and unnatural things in it it reeks havoc on the human body. i know she mentioned crack but i don't think we have any real proof luna has ever used meth.

Regardless of what reasons women have for seeking diagnosis and treatment of PCOS, it is imperative for practitioners to assess a woman’s risk for CAD. Assessment should probably be made in all PCOS patients regardless of BMI. Especially in young women or adolescents, IR may be the first identifiable risk factor. Practitioners must recognize that no universal test for IR exists and must use good clinical judgment to assess metabolic status in women. Stimulated testing with OGTT may be more sensitive than fasting measurements. Women who demonstrate IR should be counseled on lifestyle modifications. Physicians should discuss with their patients a target BMI that is realistically obtainable. It is often advisable for patients to seek nutritional assessment and counseling to help with this goal. In many individuals, consideration should be given to pharmacological treatment. Although the most commonly used medication is metformin, other medications may be appropriate first line therapy, especially in women not actively seeking pregnancy.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is not a simple pathophysiologic process for which one treatment addresses all manifestations. It is a condition that occurs in approximately 5 to 10 percent of women of childbearing age.1 It can affect women in many different ways; therefore, physicians must individualize treatment goals and target treatment to specific manifestations. Comorbidities (e.g., cardiovascular risk factors, endocrinologic disease) and the patient's desire for pregnancy must be considered when choosing a treatment regimen.
I think half the time she actually does have the money to spend on bullshit (like magazines, dunkin donuts) but she has to keep up the ~uwu im a poor gurl~ shit so she says that strangers bought it because she was "counting change". She got that one magazine right after visiting her dad.. And im pretty sure she gets/takes money from him. Its not enough to buy dope, so she just goes and spends it on dumb shit.
The study evaluated psychological symptoms in 126 women diagnosed with PCOS. Participants completed surveys using a standard tool for evaluating mental health, the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI), and their responses were compared with those of adult women in the general population and of adult women undergoing outpatient psychiatric care. While small, and not a randomized controlled trial, the study offers insight into the psychiatric manifestations of different PCOS symptoms, Reame says. Body hair and menstrual problems most strongly predicted anxiety, while obesity was most strongly associated with hostility, the study found.
Side effects: This herb can cause several side effects including muscle pain, gastrointestinal issues, weight gain, headache, dizziness and vaginal spotting. Black Cohosh has also been associated with liver disease so be watchful for symptoms like dark urine, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin or eyes and nausea which can be signs of liver complications.
Along with the hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance, Medling says that chronic, low-grade inflammation is the third player in the syndrome. (5) Follow an anti-inflammatory diet, which includes nutrient and fiber-rich produce that are low on the glycemic index (like apples and berries), grass-fed meats, organic poultry, as well as sources of omega-3s (like chia seeds and fatty fish) and avoids inflammatory, heavily processed foods, like french fries, potato chips, cake, and cookies. You’ll also want to keep track of foods that bother you (like if dairy gives you gas) and avoid those to help you feel better, she says. (6)

The principle infertility treatment initially includes preconception guidelines and the use of drugs to induce mono- or bifollicular ovulation. Other therapeutic modalities may also be employed, such as exogenous gonadotropins or laparoscopic ovarian drilling, which are considered to be second-line treatments, or in vitro fertilization (IVF), which is a third-line treatment 9. Thus, the choice of the most appropriate treatment depends on the patient's age, presence of other factors associated with infertility, experience and duration of previous treatments and the level of anxiety of the couple.
I don't believe that Luna goes ~3 days without eating uwu~ often like she claims, but she probably doesn't eat much at all on days where she's e-begging. The junk food she shares on Instagram? Pretty sure she only eats that stuff occasionally. She probably doesn't have enough money for food a lot of the time, and binges on sugary things when they get paid. Junkies will choose drugs over food, and unless Pat's dropping off groceries EVERY WEEK I think she probably skips a lot of meals/doesn't eat that many calories a day.
On rare instances, if I'm in a dire hurry (of the 'ward rounds start in five minutes, I haven't had a single bite to eat since yesterday 1600 and my blood sugar is tanking like Luna's mu opioid receptors' kind), and the person in front of me is taking utter eternities to count out $3.50 for a shitty sandwich or whatever the fuck they bought, I sometimes just pay for my shit and theirs so that I can go to work and listen to the Munchie crop of the day. So I've known a few people who try to game people in a hurry by doing this counting out cash trick on them. At the same time I have been pretty dubious of Luna's stories and I think that almost all the time, it's a cover for stealing.

Polycystic ovary syndrome represents 80% of anovulatory infertility cases. Treatment initially includes preconception guidelines, such as lifestyle changes (weight loss), folic acid therapy to prevent the risk of fetal neural tube defects and halting the consumption of tobacco and alcohol. The first-line pharmacological treatment for inducing ovulation consists of a clomiphene citrate treatment for timed intercourse. The second-line pharmacological treatment includes the administration of exogenous gonadotropins or laparoscopic ovarian surgery (ovarian drilling). Ovulation induction using clomiphene citrate or gonadotropins is effective with cumulative live birth rates of approximately 70%. Ovarian drilling should be performed when laparoscopy is indicated; this procedure is typically effective in approximately 50% of cases. Finally, a high-complexity reproduction treatment (in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is the third-line treatment and is recommended when the previous interventions fail. This option is also the first choice in cases of bilateral tubal occlusion or semen alterations that impair the occurrence of natural pregnancy. Evidence for the routine use of metformin in infertility treatment of anovulatory women with polycystic ovary syndrome is not available. Aromatase inhibitors are promising and longer term studies are necessary to prove their safety.

Combination birth control pills — those with estrogen and Prometrium (progesterone) — are frequently prescribed to women with PCOS not looking to get pregnant. If the main concern is irregular periods and the resulting potential health risks, this is a great option. “Birth control pills are very good for protecting the lining of the uterus in women who are chronically anovulatory,” says Dunaif.

If the patient does not present with ovulatory cycles at three months after ovarian drilling, then the procedure should be combined with CC treatment. The use of gonadotropins should be considered after 6 months of anovulatory cycles following the ovarian drilling procedure. Ovarian drilling should not be indicated as a treatment for menstrual irregularity, metabolic complications or hyperandrogenism in PCOS 29.

Other medications with anti-androgen effects include flutamide,[91] and spironolactone,[74] which can give some improvement in hirsutism. Metformin can reduce hirsutism, perhaps by reducing insulin resistance, and is often used if there are other features such as insulin resistance, diabetes, or obesity that should also benefit from metformin. Eflornithine (Vaniqa) is a medication that is applied to the skin in cream form, and acts directly on the hair follicles to inhibit hair growth. It is usually applied to the face.[74] 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (such as finasteride and dutasteride) may also be used;[92] they work by blocking the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (the latter of which responsible for most hair growth alterations and androgenic acne).
Following the electronic and manual searches of bibliographies, forty six clinical studies were identified for inclusion/exclusion assessment (Figure 1). A pre-requisite for the inclusion of clinical studies was identified laboratory evidence explaining the mechanism of effect in reproductive endocrinology. Fifteen met the inclusion criteria [54–68]. Eight were randomised controlled trials (RCTs) including 762 women [61–68] (Table 2). Thirty one studies were excluded for the following reasons; investigation of isolated herbal chemicals (n = 3); inclusion of male subjects (n = 4); no pre-clinical evidence (n = 11) and conditions different to those specified (n = 13).

A majority of women with PCOS have insulin resistance and/or are obese. Their elevated insulin levels contribute to or cause the abnormalities seen in the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis that lead to PCOS. Hyperinsulinemia increases GnRH pulse frequency, LH over FSH dominance, increased ovarian androgen production, decreased follicular maturation, and decreased SHBG binding. Furthermore, excessive insulin, acting through its cognate receptor in the presence of component cAMP signalling, upregulates 17α-hydroxylase activity via PI3K, 17α-hydroxylase activity being responsible for synthesising androgen precursors. The combined effects of hyperinsulinemia contribute to an increased risk of PCOS.[42] Insulin resistance is a common finding among women with a normal weight as well as overweight women.[10][17][21]
