Not necessarily. I've been on Benzos off and on since I was 13 (12 years) for panic attacks, social anxiety, etc. and I'm fine. There are also Benzos that give less of that 'floaty feeling' like Ativan. Not to start a discussion about what addiction is or isn't but I think how a drug makes you think and feel and want is completely personal and genetic.

I began clean eating and cut the caffeine. I started the supplements right before I started my cycleI. I religiously took the supplements and on Day 29 my cycle started AGAIN! Diet is crucial component in treating PCOS and really should be considered along with herbal remedies a key consideration when managing this disorder. A well-balanced junk free diet filled with PCOS foods will also help control putting on weight too which could lessen your PCOS symptoms. PCOS food options do not have to exclude all your favorite dishes, you can still enjoy a delectable range of lean proteins, fruit, veggies and whole grain products despite polycystic ovarian syndrome problems. Many women with PCOS think carbohydrates are the enemy; however, high fiber and whole grain carbohydrates have numerous vitamins and nutrition vital so consuming these types of foods also help control glucose and reduce the influence of blood insulin sensitivity. A small decrease in carb intake may be recommended if your polycystic ovarian syndrome is severe but don’t make any major changes before you talk to your physician. Keep in mind you should spread your carb consumption equally across the entire day from breakfast to an evening snack. This helps keep the glucose level even all the way through the night. It’s also wise to combine your carbohydrates with a lean protein source every meal (including snacks) because this will stabilize your blood sugar levels. Desserts, chocolate, sodas as well as an excessive amount of juice are not considered to be PCOS foods and should be avoided because they can negatively impact polycystic ovarian syndrome symptoms and sabotage your efforts to stay healthy.
PCOS is a multifaceted syndrome that affects multiple organ systems with significant metabolic and reproductive manifestations. Treatment should be individualized based on the patient's presentation and desire for pregnancy (Figure 219,29–35). Devices and medications used to treat manifestations of PCOS, and their associated adverse effects, are described in Table 2.19,29–33,36
A majority of women with PCOS have insulin resistance and/or are obese. Their elevated insulin levels contribute to or cause the abnormalities seen in the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis that lead to PCOS. Hyperinsulinemia increases GnRH pulse frequency, LH over FSH dominance, increased ovarian androgen production, decreased follicular maturation, and decreased SHBG binding. Furthermore, excessive insulin, acting through its cognate receptor in the presence of component cAMP signalling, upregulates 17α-hydroxylase activity via PI3K, 17α-hydroxylase activity being responsible for synthesising androgen precursors. The combined effects of hyperinsulinemia contribute to an increased risk of PCOS. Insulin resistance is a common finding among women with a normal weight as well as overweight women.
Side effects: Red clover has been associated with headaches, nausea, vaginal bleeding, muscle ache and rash. Do not take this herb if you have conditions that are worsened by estrogen exposure such as endometriosis, breast cancer, ovarian cancer or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Red clover might also increase the chance of bleeding so avoid this herb if you have any kind of bleeding disorder.

Cushing's syndrome, sometimes referred to as hypercortisolism, is a hormonal disorder caused by prolonged exposure to high levels of the hormone cortisol. Symptoms may include obesity, thinning arms and legs, a rounded face, and increased fat around the neck. Some causes of Cushing's syndrome is from taking glucocorticoid hormones such as prednisone for inflammatory diseases. Treatment for Cushing's syndrome depends on the cause.

A clear primary treatment for hirsutism in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) remains lacking.  However, short-term, nonpharmacologic treatments of hirsutism include shaving and the use of chemical depilatories and/or bleaching cream.  Plucking or waxing unwanted hair can result in folliculitis and ingrown hairs. Long-term, more permanent measures for unwanted hairs include electrolysis and laser treatment.
I smoke indoors and as long as you keep the window open and vacuum slightly more often there's no noticeable grime. You should clean your walls with cold water once a year or so to stop build-up of random crap regardless of whether you smoke. Tuna's grime has built up over years of neglect, smoking probably hasn't helped but it's mainly because she's nasty.
Lifestyle changes: Maintaining a healthy weight can help minimize PCOS symptoms and control diabetes. In addition, eating a diet with a lot of high-fiber carbohydrates helps slow the digestive process and control blood sugar levels. Exercise helps lower blood sugar levels and can also help relieve symptoms. Women who smoke have higher androgen levels, so quitting smoking is another positive lifestyle change to make.
PCOS is a heterogeneous disorder of uncertain cause. There is some evidence that it is a genetic disease. Such evidence includes the familial clustering of cases, greater concordance in monozygotic compared with dizygotic twins and heritability of endocrine and metabolic features of PCOS. There is some evidence that exposure to higher than typical levels of androgens in utero increases the risk of developing PCOS in later life.
